This summer, we have been blessed with the opportunity to partner with various Believe 2 Become sites around the city of Grand Rapids to teach our Activate social justice training to teens. The teens have been learning about leadership – their influence and their responsibility. Other key components of the training include justice, equity, equality, community, allies, and their role in causing change.
It has been an empowering for them to learn about the various organizations in Grand Rapids that are working to offset injustices. In the coming weeks, the teens will be looking more into the inequities in education and will begin the work of raising awareness through silent demonstrations! One of the young leaders in the Aquinas College B2B program shared, “I’m worried about our country but I have hope for our community because of the organizations working in Grand Rapids and because of us!” Stay tuned for more from this amazing group of young leaders!
