For the first time in over ten years, there is a Student Council at Union High School! Fifteen young leaders were voted in as Student Council members last May.
During our program time together with students at Union High School, students have been challenged to examine themselves as young leaders in their school, helping to identify the things that they want to change in their school. GRIL’s school change project was instrumental in revitalizing student council activities at Union.
Our activities with the school change project included creating and distributing surveys to students, assistance with implementing student election activities and continued planning and leadership with this year’s school change project and other related school events. GRIL met with the Student Council last week and will continue to walk with them this year. Pray for these young leaders as they lead and empower their peers ‘to be the change they want to see’ in there school!
