Over the past two weeks, GRIL U participants have moved into the initial phase of their program and have begun in earnest the journey which will result in them becoming transformational leaders.

Participants have begun learning about learning styles and how different styles affect our ability to grasp information. The term learning style speaks to the understanding that everyone learns differently. Learning style refers to the preferential way in which the students absorbs, processes, comprehends and retains information. Over the past several years, the notion of learning styles has gained widespread recognition in education theory and classroom management theory.

Each of the GRIL U’s participants, to better understand their own individual learning style, took¬†the VAC assessment to determine if they were visual learners, auditory learners, or kinesthetic learners. As participants learn more about themselves and their own individual style of learning, they will begin taking the first steps in becoming the transformational leader that will make positive impacts with the communities they serve.
