This past Saturday and for the next few weeks, we will help our teens understand the power of their choices and the positive and negative consequences that happen because of their choices.  We facilitated a “real life” simulation to help them experience some of the circumstances and decisions that they may face later in life.

The activity included the teens starting out with a $500 check. During the simulation, they cashed the check and began the journey of creating their futures.  They were given the options of applying to college, looking for a job, looking for housing, getting groceries, and much more.  Volunteers were assigned a role working at a Bank, a payday loan company, Meijer, Department of Human Services, Colleges, Biggby, and other roles.

It was an eye-opening experience for them as they were challenged with making decisions and weighing the outcomes.  We look forward to continuing to support our teens as they experience transformation.
