LeMarr is currently a co-leader at the Madison Square Church GRIL U site. He first became involved with GR Initiative for Leaders as a participant in the GRIL U program at Tall Turf in 2009.
“In GRIL U, I learned a lot about myself and what it takes to be a leader. I learned about my identity and what my role is in the Kingdom. I also learned about empowerment and I think that it is awesome to equip someone with skills so that they can do it themselves. Can’t change anyone, they have to make the decision for themselves.”
LeMarr’s mission statement is:
To be an ambassador of Christ I will raise the bar of student leadership by being a servant to my community, a bridge of understanding, tower of encouragement, and being an example of hope, faith and love.
His future plans are to become a pastor at his church and a math teacher. He was recently put in charge of youth ministry.
LeMarr’s challenge to his peers: ‘I challenge you to seek first the Kingdom of God. Don’t try to force this work. If you seek Him first, He will prepare the pathway for you. I find that when I am seeking God’s word, that is when the opportunities arise. Christ calls us to be different in our community. We don’t have to be like the world; we are called to be different.’
