Grand Rapids – This week students from Believe 2 Become summer learning academy sites raised awareness about their educational concerns and realities.
At several locations in Grand Rapids, students led silent demonstrations as a way for parents, community members and other stakeholders to be made aware of challenges that high school students in Greater Grand Rapids experience in their schools.
Coached by GR Initiative for Leaders staff (GRIL), students spent the previous five weeks with GRIL’s Activate U – Social Justice curriculum. They learned how to identify social justice issues, raise awareness about their educational realities, and the importance of being an ally in using their collective voices. Read more at GR Times.
