The GRIL U teens have finished writing their personal mission statements as well as their 1, 5 and 10 year goals.  In GRIL U, the first half of the year is about understanding themselves (individually and as leaders) – their gifts, their passions, their purpose and dreams for the future.  They have been working in leadership within their churches/ministries and are being transformed.  It is during this time period that you often see teens rise up in understanding who they are, whose they are and how to lead in the identity.  This past week the teens spent time learning about empowerment – ‘giving power to’.  They’ve been challenged to think about what it means to empower in the classroom, in their school hallways, at lunch, in their homes, at their churches, in their neighborhoods, etc.  As we go through this journey with them, God often reminds us as adult leaders about our work in empowering all of those around us – even at home.  What have you been doing to empower your family, your friends, colleagues, neighbors?  Ask God to show you what you can do today to impact others by ‘giving them power’ – power to live in who they are to do what God has created and gifted them to do!  Let’s change our communities together by being empowering leaders!
